I LOVE audiobooks (see why on my last post about audiobooks here!), but not all are created equal. If you get a good one, it can be the best thing EVER, but if you happen upon a bad one, there’s no way in hell you’re going to like that book, no matter how good it actually is. Here are some of my favorite audiobooks.

Some Good Sci-Fi Listens:

  Jurassic park

Sleeping Giants had an AWESOME audiobook. It was like a movie! See my review here.
See my rave review of The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet here.
I LOVED Jurassic Park on audio! See my review here!
Dark Matter translated well to audio, and I enjoyed the narrator quite a bit! See my review here.

Something for the Romantic:

the bronze horseman cover

I absolutely adored the narrator for The Bronze Horseman. His voice was PERFECT and his voice for Alexander was drool-worthy. I listened to that 30+ hour audiobook in less than a week I was so obsessed! See my review here.

For the Historical Fiction Fans:

salt to the sea wolf by wolf ryan graudin vengeance road cover

Salt to the Sea was an EXCELLENT young adult historical fiction novel, and I loved that different voices were cast for each of the characters. See my review here.

Wolf by Wolf barely classifies as historical fiction (since it’s alternate reality history…), but I’m still throwing it in here. This was quite a good audiobook! The narrator did an awesome job with the German accents, and it made it all the more fun to listen to. See my review here!

Some people didn’t like the narrator’s southern accent on Vengeance Road, but I loved it, and thought it fit really well with the story. See my review for VR here.

The Contemporary Reader:

I’m really a big fan of when audiobooks cast multiple actors for the various narrators of the story. It made this book so much more powerful. See my review here!

For the Fantasy/Paranormal Folk:

 nevernight cover

The narrator for The Raven Boys did all of the books in the series (four of ’em)! He was fantastic! See my review for the first on here.

The audiobook for Nevernight was SO GOOD!! I absolutely ate it up. See my glowing review of this book here.
