I guess we are getting pretty close to fall now, aren’t we? I mean, even if it’s still lava-hot where I live, at least I can pretend it’s raining and gloomy outside so that I have to stay home and read. Here’s my list of books I hope to read in the next few months… aka, my fall TBR (remember, that’s to-be-read list).
As is always the case with my posts, the linked titles will take you to the Goodreads page in case you want to find out more about the novel!
1. The Mermaid and Mrs. Hancock
2. The City of Brass
3. Spinning Silver
4. Eclipse
No shame in my game here. I’ve been listening through the audiobooks of the Twilight Saga, and Eclipse is up next!
5. The Ring
I need a good spooky read for Halloween, so this should fit the bill.
Some classics I hope to read:
6. The Haunting of Hill House
Again, I need some good Halloween reads!
7. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
8. 2001, A Space Odyssey
9. Journey to the Center of the Earth
10. Rebecca
I accidentally listened to the abridged version a while back. I loved it, but I’ve been meaning to read the entire thing to see if I loved it just as much. It seems like a good fall time book, you know?
What’s on your Fall TBR?
A.S. Thornton has evolved from book blogger to author with a particular fondness for writing forbidden love in ancient deserts. When not writing, she’s caring for dogs and cats as a veterinarian. You’ll never find animals at the center of her writing, though, because those fictional worlds don’t have veterinarians and her literal brain can’t accept that the poor critters would be without parasite prevention. Thornton’s debut, DAUGHTER OF THE SALT KING is available wherever books are sold.

I think the only two on this list that I’ve read are Rebecca and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, although I’ve been wanting to read Spinning Silver. Rebecca was my first foray into the world of Daphne Du Maurier, and I love it so much!!

Oooo, I have City of Brass on my TBR too – I got an ARC through Illumicrate forever ago and have heard nothing but good things. Can’t wait to hear what you think!

So many books I hope to read this fall – some that are coming out, but others that have been out and I just need to finally read them like Vicious by V.E. Schwab (since you know, the sequel is coming out. LOL) I hope you get to most, if not all, of these reads!

I’m reading Spinning Silver now and it’s really good! Kind of wished I’d waited till a colder month to read it since it’s still in the 80s in LA. Wintry weather would be the perfect backdrop.

ahahah, yes it’s JUST finally cooling down here and I’m listening to it now!

Rebecca!! Afterward, treat yourself to the Laurence Olivier film version. I don’t enjoy Sci-Fi or fantasy, but I make an exception for Jules Verne –Loved Journey to the Center of the Earth—read it to my kids and they liked it. Tom Sawyer is so worth it in spite of current day objects (which I understand). You’ve got some GREAT reads coming up!
Ali
Oooh good to know about the film version! I’m looking forward to all of my reads – glad you approve of many of them 😀

I’ve not read it myself, but heard great things about Spinning Silver. Also agree that Rebecca would make a great autumnal read, as does The Haunting of Hill House. I hope you enjoy these upcoming titles.

I have to read 2001 as the film is one of my all time favorites! A great and varied list this month for you! I finished up only one book in September as I’ve been so busy but it was a great one! It’s called Civil Terror: Gridlock and it’s written by J. Luke Bennecke (http://www.jlukebennecke.com/ ). It is an intense thriller with a not too distant future setting and looming technological threats that could be our reality really soon! It has great characters and kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish! There are plans for a series so I am super excited!
