I know you’ve probably long-forgotten who the heck this “bandar blog” chick is, so I’m here to refresh your memory! I’m Ali and I love books and talking about them. You like books, too. That’s why you’re reading this now.
It’s been MONTHS since I’ve had a blog post (even my Instagram page has been suffering from lack of posts). As you may (or may not) recall, I posted a while back about how I was moving to Sacramento (from Fresno, about 3 hours south). Well, it’s finally happened.
We’ve been in our new home for three weeks now, and we still have some major settling to do. That being said, the biggest hurdle (aka actually moving) is over and every day we have less and less to do, which means…. *drum roll*… I have more time to blog (and write and read)!
Things aren’t perfectly peachy right now (mostly with the work situation- we love our new home and city), so I’m thinking bringing regular blogging back and connecting with my lovely bookish people (um, you) will help give me a sense of normalcy again (and with it maybe some more happiness).
So while I am not quite ready to start busting out those book reviews yet, I am getting close. I mean, hey, look at me even writing a blog post right now! Can someone please give me some serious props for even doing this?
TL;DR – I’ve missed you, I’m coming back soon.
Any exciting updates from your part of the world? Any new favorite books, something I desperately needs to read? Say hello and tell me what’s new!
A.S. Thornton has evolved from book blogger to author with a particular fondness for writing forbidden love in ancient deserts. When not writing, she’s caring for dogs and cats as a veterinarian. You’ll never find animals at the center of her writing, though, because those fictional worlds don’t have veterinarians and her literal brain can’t accept that the poor critters would be without parasite prevention. Thornton’s debut, DAUGHTER OF THE SALT KING is available wherever books are sold.

Here’s some props — We miss you guys! And look forward to seeing you in a few weeks. I’m anxious to hear all the news about the transition. And I’m so pleased you now have time to blog again. Ok, now to books — Someone (I won’t mention his name) convinced me to read the Flashman novels. I believe Cole has read them, too. They are hilarious and historically accurate. Not sure it’s your cup of tea, but that’s what I’m reading right now after having finished two massive nonfiction books — the new Winston Churchill bio and The Club about a group of intellectual giants in the 18th century. Fascinating, right? They actually were…But here’s a book you might find interesting and it’s a best seller — The Last Days of Night. It’s about the fight over how to light up the country (the beginning of electricity). Odd topic for a novel, but it’s quite interesting. I realize those aren’t your fav genres but you asked what your blog readers been reading. Anxious to hear what you’ve been reading….

Congrats on the move, and I hope things settle down soon! I’m headed out of town for a couple of weeks, but the laptop is going with me, so I should be able to keep blogging while I’m out.
