Okay, I know this is a few days late, but I had to delay the publication of this post in order to air my grievances about the Ready Player One movie. Anyway, March was a fantastic reading month for me! I read seven books: Gone with the Wind was my favorite (GAH, I’m still heartbroken), and The Call of the Wild was definitely the worst. I don’t have any fun personal news (though we did visit Sacramento for a weekend, which was fun), but I did make a lot of progress on my novel! Getting my momentum up for Camp NaNoWriMo in April. Anyway, read on to see the blog summary for March. And please let me know how your March was in the comment section below!
One Classic and One ARC Per Month
Part of my blogging resolutions is to read a classic and advanced readers copy each month.
Classic: The Call of the Wild by Jack London (um, yuck), and I finally finished Gone with the Wind!
ARC: I’m in the middle of reading The Seven 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton. So far so good, but it’s slow going for me as I’ve become completely obsessed with writing my story right now.
Links I Loved
- Molly (from Molly’s Book Nook) talked about her new bookstagram routine, and provided some great tips if you’re looking for some ideas.
- Krysta (from Pages Unbound) gave some very compelling reasons why she limits the amount of books she owns (maybe I should follow some of her advice?).
- Marie (from Drizzle and Hurricane Books) asks a great question: Is book blogging still relevant? I often wonder this, but don’t worry guys, I’m not going anywhere any time soon.
- Jenn over at A Page of Jenniely discusses why she doesn’t write negative book reviews. She makes a fair point. What do you think?
- Marta at The Cursed Books explains why blogging might be bad for your reading and gives some tips on what you can do about it!

What was your March highlight (whether bookish or personal)?
A.S. Thornton has evolved from book blogger to author with a particular fondness for writing forbidden love in ancient deserts. When not writing, she’s caring for dogs and cats as a veterinarian. You’ll never find animals at the center of her writing, though, because those fictional worlds don’t have veterinarians and her literal brain can’t accept that the poor critters would be without parasite prevention. Thornton’s debut, DAUGHTER OF THE SALT KING is available wherever books are sold.
Aj @ Read All The Things!
I’m glad you had an excellent reading month. I hope April is just as good for you! I love your bookstagram photos. Have a great April!

I got to see a couple authors live – and meet one of them – so that was probably a big plus for me in March. Also, I saw Love, Simon and I STILL need to go and see it again because it was amazing. 🙂

Amber @ The Literary Phoenix
I adore Gone With the Wind! The ending is a rainstorm of despair and beauty, isn’t it? I am positively in love with Melanie.
I had a lovely March, filled with properly enjoyable reads. Ready Player One was, naturally, a blemish. But with spring just a whisper around the corner, everything in the world must be good.
(Listening to Anne of the Island – I am not responsible for flowery writing. L.M. Montgomery makes me want to speak in metaphors.)

I haven’t read the books on your list so thank you for recommending these! I just finished reading Smaller and Smaller Circles by F.H. Batacan and it’s thrilling! I’m currently reading How to Deal with Difficult People by Bo Sanchez and I like it so far because I’ve already learned a lot after reading the first few pages. I hope I’ll be able to read more books after this!
