I have been waiting to make this official announcement for months now. MONTHS I TELL YOU. I hate keeping secrets (they’re a serious burden), so this has been straight-up torture. Now I can finally explain why I have been in a bookish rut and why I haven’t been blogging as much.
I’m moving to Sacramento!
The hubs and I are so excited to make the move, but these past 6+ months have been extremely stressful for us. We’re building a home, so between that, job hunting, and preparing for the move, we’ve been working literal and metaphorical overtime with work and all the house crap.
Move stuff has absorbed so much of my free time that reading and blogging majorly took a back seat. I’m sure things are still going to sit in the back seat for the next couple of months, but I can tell things are finally settling down.
I am ecstatic to move and can’t wait to have a whole new place to read, bookstagram, and blog (just THINK of all the cafes and bookshops I’ll have at my fingertips!).
So there, it’s off my chest. I have no secrets to keep any longer! Hooray!
Have you been to Sacramento or do you live in Northern CA? Any recommendations for restaurants/bars we’ll have to visit when we move?!
A.S. Thornton has evolved from book blogger to author with a particular fondness for writing forbidden love in ancient deserts. When not writing, she’s caring for dogs and cats as a veterinarian. You’ll never find animals at the center of her writing, though, because those fictional worlds don’t have veterinarians and her literal brain can’t accept that the poor critters would be without parasite prevention. Thornton’s debut, DAUGHTER OF THE SALT KING is available wherever books are sold.

How exciting! I recently moved away from Northern California and am incredibly sad about it because now I am cold. I keep checking the weather and realizing it’s like 60 degrees here and…it’s not where I am now. Brrr. I didn’t spend too much time in Sacarmento itself, though, so no real recommendations there.
Briana @ Pages Unbound just posted A Curse So Dark and Lonely Book Discussion: Would People Really Believe in the Existence of a Made-Up Country?

Good luck with your move. I lived in Sacramento for about 15 years, between my childhood and my college years. I even went to CSU Sacramento.
IF it’s still there, and you like a good burger, try Jasper’s Giant Hamburgers.

I LOVE burgers! I will definitely check it out. i googled it, and it looks like it’s still there. Thanks for the food rec 😀
