Well I should preface this all by saying I’m not reading too much right now. My physical reads are super slow going, because all my free time is being sucked up by writing (which has been so fun!). So anyway, if I were to do this post again in 2 weeks, (which, don’t worry, I won’t) it’d probably be the exact same!
What I just finished reading:
In looking back to see what my last reads were, I realized that I have listened to FOUR (yes FOUR) audiobooks in the time that it has taken me to read one physical book. OMG that is so ridiculous. Thank goodness for audiobooks, otherwise I would be a terrible book blogger.
Anyway, the last two audiobooks I listened to were The Thirteenth Tale, which honestly barely counts because I ended up DNF-ing it. This is the second time I’ve started and stopped this book. This time I got a lot further (~40%) but I still wasn’t interested in what was going on, so I decided it just wasn’t the book for me. It’s too bad, because I know a TON of you rave about it!
I also recently finished Reboot, which also was a book gifted to me. While I definitely enjoyed it (solid 3 stars), it wasn’t particularly memorable. I don’t think I’ll be writing a review for it.
What I’m Reading Now:
I am reading an ARC of The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, which is SOOO slow going for me. This is a very classic mystery tale and is quite fun, but because of other things in life right now, I just am not getting through it very quickly.
I decided to re-read to A Court of Mist and Fury, because GAH I loved this book so much. I am quite enjoying the audiobook!
What I’m Reading Next:
I’ll be reading my classic and ARC for April! I’ll be listening to Robin Hood on audio, and reading a e-book ARC of Legendary. I quite enjoyed its precursor, Caraval, so I’m excited to see where this novel takes us.
What was the last book you read? What are you reading now? Have you read any of these novels?
A.S. Thornton has evolved from book blogger to author with a particular fondness for writing forbidden love in ancient deserts. When not writing, she’s caring for dogs and cats as a veterinarian. You’ll never find animals at the center of her writing, though, because those fictional worlds don’t have veterinarians and her literal brain can’t accept that the poor critters would be without parasite prevention. Thornton’s debut, DAUGHTER OF THE SALT KING is available wherever books are sold.

I DID NOT KNOW PYLE WRITE A BOOK ON ROBIN HOOD! I have his King Arthur book on my list. Adding this to my TBR. 😀

I’m reading it soon, I’ll let you know how it is!!

I just finished Perfect in the Pretty Little Liars series. I am trying to finally read the whole series. I am currently reading Game of Thrones and Unraveling Oliver. I haven’t read any of these novels but the 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle is on my list of books I want to read. I have the arc of it so I can’t wait to get to it.
Ali
Oooh GoT! I haven’t read that and don’t think I will until they’re all out because I don’t trust Martin to finish them XD I hope you enjoy Hardcastle when you get to it! I’m hoping to finish it this weekend.

Well, I’ve started Ready Player One and since it was my era a lot of the references are familiar. Since I’ve had children the gaming part is “gettable,” although I’ve never actually played a video game. Just started it, and love the vibe and main character so far.

I haven’t read Caraval but I am really curious. I’m reading The Dark Divide by D.K. Stone which is really good. I just finished I Hunt Killers, which was also awesome. Looks like I’m loving the mystery books lately…haha

You know, I’m totally not a mystery person for some reason?! I wish I was. 71/2 deaths of Evelyn Hardscastle is a mystery novel, and I know that if I loved mystery, I would have LOVED it. Caraval is definitely a lot of hype – unless you really enjoy YA fiction, I don’t think that I’d say you have to read it.

I kinda wanted to read Reboot, although not enough to, you know, actually read it. Still… and the 7 1/2 Deaths has me curious. Ooh Robin Hood!

Hahahaha I hear you on that. There are a lot of things I “want to read” but don’t ACTUALLY want to read XD 7 1/2 Deaths is a super interesting book and I think it’s going to be super popular when it releases in September!

I am so curious to see how Legendary will turn out. And how you will find Robin Hood. One of those classics I’d still like to get to as well.

I’m curious to see how Legendary goes, too! My mindset is different now than it was a year ago (I like YA fantasy less)… so we’ll see if I enjoy it as much as I did Caraval

Always up for an ACOMAF reread… !!!
I’m enjoying a lot of audiobooks these days too… but for me, it all comes down to a good narrator…
Ali
The narrator is SO IMPORTANT! It makes or breaks everything!
