This is my favorite post to write every single year. I love looking back and see what my favorite reads were. Read on to see my top 10 books of 2018, and make sure you tell me some of your favorites so I can find some good books to read. All links below will take you to my reviews!
10. Miracle Creek by Angie Kim
This novel isn’t going to be released until April this year. I really liked this thriller, and I’m not normally a thriller person! My review will come out closer to release date.
9. The Bird and the Sword by Amy Harmon
8. The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
7. Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert
6. Furyborn by Claire Legrand
5. Ghosted by Rosie Walsh
4. The Tea Rose by Jennifer Donnelly
This review will be coming out later this month!
3. Goodnight Mister Tom by Michelle Magorian
2. The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
And my #1 favorite novel read in 2018 is…
1. Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
As is evidenced by my top two reads of 2018, I am OBSESSED with heart breaking love stories. And even though this book drove me insane and these characters were nuts, I loved it.
What was your top read(s) of 2018?
A.S. Thornton has evolved from book blogger to author with a particular fondness for writing forbidden love in ancient deserts. When not writing, she’s caring for dogs and cats as a veterinarian. You’ll never find animals at the center of her writing, though, because those fictional worlds don’t have veterinarians and her literal brain can’t accept that the poor critters would be without parasite prevention. Thornton’s debut, DAUGHTER OF THE SALT KING is available wherever books are sold.

People keep recommending The Tea Rose to me, and I really need to get around to it.
I admit I found Madame Bovary kind of boring though. :p

The Tea Rose is definitely an easy read and one that is purely for entertainment alone, so if you’re looking for a read like that, you’ll probably quite enjoy it!

Gone with the Wind sounds so good! I finally bought me a copy. I hope I can get around to reading it soon!

I DNF a million classics I started. Still reading to Kill a Mockingbird and see why it was “America’s Favorite Book” on the PBS poll. Great writing. I loved Madame Bovary in HS. And how can you resist Miss Scarlet and Rhett in GWTW!
