Don’t you have books that you could re-read a million times? I think all of us do, so let’s discuss them! Instead of sharing 10 of my own, I decided to share my top 5 and have my husband (Cole) share his top 5 as well. Make sure you tell me what books you could re-read forever in the comment section below.

Ali’s Top 5 Books To Re-Read Forever:

1. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

Now, I have to make it clear that it’s the FIRST one I could re-read forever. The later ones in the series, while I love them, get emotionally tough, so I don’t want to put myself through that too often.

2. Ready Player One

I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS BOOK, and I am very excited/scared for the movie. See my rave review of this book here!

3. The Bronze Horseman

And it will tear my heart out and stomp on it EVERY SINGLE TIME. See my review here.

4. A Discovery of Witches

GAH. I adore this book!! Matthew is my #1 book boyfriend, so that’s probably the main reason I’m obsessed. Anyway, I JUST reviewed this book on the blog (finally), click here to read it!

5. A Little Princess

This book is just the most magical little story I’ve ever read. If I ever have kids, they will be forced to read this a thousand times!

Cole’s Top 5 Books To Re-Read Forever (in his own words):

1. The Great Gatsby

the great gatsby fitzgerald

The great American novel for a reason! The language is absolutely gorgeous, and it is so evocative of a time and place. Also, it’s endlessly quotable.

2. The Gormenghast Trilogy

gormenghast

A sprawling, strange, beautiful book. It contains in its weirdness so much of life, and it’s easy to get lost in it.

3. The Lord of the Rings

Does this need explanation? No.

4. The Little Prince

Proof that a children’s book can be as profound as any adult literature. Is it a hat or a boa constrictor eating an elephant? Your answer says a lot about you.

5. Moby-Dick

Another great American novel! Like Gormenghast, this is a weird, beautiful, and all encompassing experience. Life through the lens of whaling.

Cole, continued: I have a hard time just choosing five, so here are honorable mentions: The Wind in the Willows, War and Peace, McCarthy’s Border Trilogy, The Harry Potter books, and Dune. Don’t ask me again or you might get five more…
