It’s been a while since I’ve checked in with you all about what I’m reading, so here’s a recap of what I’ve recently read, what I’m reading now, and what I’ll be reading next. Make sure you let me know your reading plans in the comment section below!
1. What are you currently reading?
A Conjuring of Light by VE Schwab is the physical book that I’m reading now. It’s the much anticipated finale to the Shades of Magic trilogy (see my rave review for the first one here!). I’m going to try to read it slowly so that I can savor every FINAL WORD.
Cinder by Marissa Meyer is a popular young adult retelling of Cinderella. I’m listening to the audiobook version right now, and I am really enjoying it!
2. What did you recently finish reading?
The last audiobook I read was The Lost World by Michael Crichton. I had a blast listening to that one — sorry, but I can’t get enough of scary-AF raptors and tyranosaurs! Review is coming up in a few weeks.
The last physical book I finished was Caraval by Stephanie Garber and enjoyed it quite a bit! Review will be up later this week.
3. What do you think you’ll read next?
I know I’m going to read The Summer Garden by Paullina Simons after I finish A Conjuring of Light. This is the series finale to The Bronze Horseman series (see my rave review of The Bronze Horseman here!).
I’m not too sure what audiobook I’ll listen to next. I suppose it depends on whether or not something gets checked out to me from the library. If nothing gets checked out, I’ll listen to Dune by Frank Herbert (I’ll be reading this one is for my husband).
So now it’s your turn to answer the questions. What are you currently reading? What did you just finish reading? And what do you think you’ll plan on reading next?
“WWW Wednesday” is a weekly meme that was created by Should Be Reading.
A.S. Thornton has evolved from book blogger to author with a particular fondness for writing forbidden love in ancient deserts. When not writing, she’s caring for dogs and cats as a veterinarian. You’ll never find animals at the center of her writing, though, because those fictional worlds don’t have veterinarians and her literal brain can’t accept that the poor critters would be without parasite prevention. Thornton’s debut, DAUGHTER OF THE SALT KING is available wherever books are sold.

I haven’t read any of these books but I have definitely heard about the first two. They seem quite popular around blogosphere. I hope that you will enjoy all your books this week. Happy reading.
Ali
Haha yay! There’s so many books in the world – it’s staggering! Happy Reading to you, too!

mmm… Although I haven’t got a special TBR planned I do have an idea of what I’ll read next: Jane Steele, The Miniaturist, Mindy McGinnis’ dystopian duology, a thriller probably the Luckiest Girl Alive pplus some arcs from netgalley!! 🙂 🙂
I just finished reading yesterday Pretty Baby by Mary Kubica and it was a surprising and great book.
And now I am reading The Last of August (just started so I don’t have much to say) and STILL Outlander….
Ali
Yay! I love when I read books and think they’re great! I’m glad you enjoyed Pretty Baby! I hope you enjoy Jane Steele. I also read The Miniaturist a while back – hope you like it, too!

Let’s see…just finished ACOL, currently reading ACOL, hopefully will stop myself from reading ACOL next. 😂 Besides that, I’m halfway through The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue, and then I want to start The Executioner after that.
I really want to read the Jurassic Park books this year! I love the covers.
Ali
Hahahah you should TOTALLY read the JP books this year- especially if you enjoyed the movie. If you did, there’s a really good chance you’ll enjoy the books because they’re even better! And sounds like ACOL will be on your mind for a long time XD

A Conjuring of Light is AMAZING. omg. I love that book and the series SO MUCH I can’t even express how much I love it! <3 I'm glad to hear you're enjoying Cinder as well, I loved that series. And I can't wait to read Caraval! 🙂
Ali
GAH! I am so excited to get through ACOL! Everyone is raving about it, and I can’t wait to love it just as much (because I know I will)!
Brittany's Book Rambles
So glad you enjoyed Caraval–I adore that book! Right now, I’m reading Sparks of Light and listening to King’s Cage 🙂 Loving both so far! Awesome post 😀

Yay! I hope you enjoy King’s Cage – I haven’t read those books, but suspect I will eventually!

I’m currently reading Garber’s Caraval and listening to Johnson’s Be Frank With Me. Not really connecting with Caraval, but Be Frank With Me is really great! The narrator is phenomenal. I enjoyed reading Herbert’s Dune many years ago. Excited to read your review for the audio-book version of Cinder.
Ali
Yeah! I am enjoying Cinder so far – there are little things that bug me, but overall it’s an entertaining story (: I can’t wait to get to Dune. I hope Caraval gets better for you – I enjoyed it, but it didn’t blow me away like it did for so many others.
Molly's Book Nook
Ah, so many books I want to read. Curious, do you usually listen to 1 audiobook at the same time as reading 1 book?
Molly @ Molly’s Book Nook
Ali
I do! I actually get more “reading” done via audiobook than I do with a physical copy, because I have so little time to sit down and read during the week days (that’s what weekends are for!), but I can often listen to my audiobook while I’m doing a million other things 😀
Molly's Book Nook
I’ve only ever listened to one audiobook and I find I can only really focus on it when I’m cleaning, driving or getting ready. Otherwise it’s all just in one ear and out the other haha
Ali
That’s fair! If it’s not an interesting book that totally happens to me!
