The holiday season is finally upon us! Goodbye November! I can’t wait for December- a month of cold weather, songs, hot drinks, rain, reading, sparkling lights, reds, greens, and golds. And to top it all off, at the end of December my husband and I are going to Iceland! Hooray for long airplane rides, which equate to more reading! I suppose I should be talking about November, but it bored me, so I’ve moved on.
Books Read in November
I had a decent reading month. I got through 3 audiobooks (I am the Messenger, The Hike, and The Bronze Horseman) and 3 normal books (Gemina, Ever the Hunted, and The Mime Order). Click the links for my reviews. Those without links will have reviews coming up soon. Favorite read of November was hands down The Bronze Horseman. This book was one of my favorite reads of 2016. Possibly one of my favorite reads of ALL TIME (gasp, that’s a big deal!).

A.S. Thornton has evolved from book blogger to author with a particular fondness for writing forbidden love in ancient deserts. When not writing, she’s caring for dogs and cats as a veterinarian. You’ll never find animals at the center of her writing, though, because those fictional worlds don’t have veterinarians and her literal brain can’t accept that the poor critters would be without parasite prevention. Thornton’s debut, DAUGHTER OF THE SALT KING is available wherever books are sold.

Wow, your bookstagram photos are gorgeous! I actually also DNFed Vassa.. after reading more than 75% of the book. It made me sad because I wanted to love that book SO much lol. Great wrap-up! ^_^

Iceland!! What fun!!! I’ve heard wonderful things about traveling to Iceland!
Ali
Yeah! I am excited because it will be winter so a lot of time will be spent huddling up and reading 😀

I’ve heard so many good things about The Bronze Horsesman. I should really check it out sometime.
November wasn’t an amazing reading month for me in the sense that I didn’t get through many books. Exams and starting clinical rotations made it hard to find reading time 🙁
Iceland would be so exciting to see! I hope you have a great trip
Ali
Thank you! And when you’re ready for a fantastic love story – pick up the Bronze Horseman, I think there’s a good chance you’ll love it!

Ooh, I really want to read Ever the Hunted! What did you think of it? I’m also excited to read Vassa in the Night, but it has mixed reviews, so I’m kind of nervous. I really want to read The Bone Season as well, but it’ll porbably be awhile until I get to it. I only read four books last month, but my favorite was probably Blue Lily, Lily Blue. My bookstagram account is @districtrebxls 🙂
Ali
You know, Ever the Hunted wasn’t my favorite (it was very trope-heavy, which normally doesn’t bother me too much, but this time it did). I do think it didn’t help that I read one of my favorite books of all-time before reading Ever the Hunted! I think people are going to like it, and I hope that you do when you get to it!
I’m not a fan of absurdities and disjointed worlds, which is basically what Vassa was, so that book wasn’t for me at all! People who like absurdities seemed to love that book, though!
I really loved Blue Lily, Lily Blue. I hope that you enjoy the finale as well (: And I have followed you on bookstagram! Yay friends!

Oh wow Iceland! That sounds so amazing, I hope you guys have a wonderful trip. The Bronze Horseman was sooo good omg. I love your bookstagram, it’s just so aesthetic!
Ali
Thank you Jeann (: I try! I am glad you loved the Bronze Horseman, too! I’m desperately trying to finish the book I’m reading now so that I can read the next one in the series!
