HANDS DOWN my favorite part of ending the year is looking back on the books I’ve read. I especially love crafting my list of favorites to share with all of you (what will be my number 1?!). I’d love to hear what your favorite 2017 reads were, and if you made your own list on your blog, PLEASE link me to it! I’d love to see!
All book title links will link to my reviews, where you can find the synopsis and links to purchase the books.
10. Salt to the Sea
9. Fierce Kingdom
8. A Conjuring of Light
7. The Exorcist
6. A Closed and Common Orbit
5. A Man Called Ove
4. Godsgrave
3. Nevernight
2. Jurassic Park
1. A Court of Mist and Fury
LOL. I am slightly (but not really) ashamed that a YA paranormal romance/fantasy novel is my #1 book of the year, but this book was so legit that I can’t even pretend I wasn’t obsessed.
What were some of your top read books of 2017?
A.S. Thornton has evolved from book blogger to author with a particular fondness for writing forbidden love in ancient deserts. When not writing, she’s caring for dogs and cats as a veterinarian. You’ll never find animals at the center of her writing, though, because those fictional worlds don’t have veterinarians and her literal brain can’t accept that the poor critters would be without parasite prevention. Thornton’s debut, DAUGHTER OF THE SALT KING is available wherever books are sold.

OMG I’m so glad to see Jurassic Park on your list!! I adore that book <3 The sequel called The Lost World is fantastic as well!
Ali
(: (: (: Yes! I read that one, too, and really enjoyed it.

A Man Called Ove is my favourite book of the year! I just bought Salt to the Sea and have a feeling it will be a favourite as well!
Ali
It’s fantastic. I loved A Man Called Ove! Such a sweet story.

ACOMAF because paint and soup. I hadn’t read anything by Sarah J. Maas before August – I think? – and now I’m on a roll. I’m going through the Throne of Glass-series as well but nobody can beat Rhysand anymore. It’s simply impossible!
I have a copy of Nevernight on my physical TBR but I’m holding off on reading it. Everybody keeps telling me that I’ll want to buy the sequel immediately and after reading that one I’ll end up being a blubbering mess because I’ll have to wait for the third book for ages? [I seriously heard that dozens of times by now so I don’t even have the guts to pick up Nevernight anymore, haha!]
Ali
Hahahahah, well good to know nothing beats Rhysand. TOG is on my TBR for 2018, so we’ll see what I think. As far as Nevernight goes – yes, if you like it, you’ll be a blubbering mess for sure!!

I need to read Salt to the Sea. It keeps receiving raving reviews and everyone seems to love it.
Ali
It’s a good one for sure!!

A Conjuring of Light was on my list of best reads of 2017 as well. And you made me more excited to read A Closed and Common Orbit. 😀

Ali
OOoh yes I hope you love it! I am obsessed with everything Chambers writes!

Salt to the Sea was also on my list, it was just beautiful! Also, your list reminded me that I should finish the ADSOM series as I only read the first book. It seems like you had a great year and read some lovely books!! Great post!
Ali
Thanks Marta! And yes, you should definitely finish the ADSOM series! So good!
