Bookish Halloween Bonanza 2017: Happy October!

If you were a follower last year (which, if you were and you’re still following, can I take a moment to say how awesome you are?), you might remember my Bookish Halloween Bonanza. Well I’m doing it again this year, though not quite as elaborately. October is my favorite month of the year, so this is how I share my love of all things spooky with all of you!

Though things won’t be quite as extensive, I am still keeping this month horror-themed, and, naturally, I’m still doing a giveaway! Read on to see the schedule of posts (as things publish, I’ll be sure to add the link), and scroll all the way to the bottom of the page to enter the giveaway!

  1. Ooh looks like you’ve got some fun posts lined up! I’ve been contemplating making a post about the horror books I’ve read since I actually haven’t read that many and never tend to talk about them, and I think you’ve inspired me to go for it 🙂 I don’t think I have a favorite scary story though because of the whole not much of a horror reader thing lol. I think those famous scary stories books scarred me as a child 😉
Kristen @ Metaphors and Moonlight just posted Update: The Weekly Update 10/1/17My Profile

    1. You totally should write a post of the horror books you’ve read! I don’t see enough horror in the blogosphere (but I’m sure that is in part due to who I follow). We need more!

    1. Thank you so much! I always forget about the genre, and then Halloween comes around and I dive right back in again. I looooveee being scared, and being scared while reading is just a fun to me (:

  2. “Comment with your favorite scary story!” Ooh, I recently read “Uzumaki” by Junji Ito! All his books are scary and creepy! They’re terrific!

    1. Ooooooooh thanks for the rec!! I will have to look into these books! “scary and creepy” sounds right up my alley 😀

  3. October is the best month! I love reading horror short stories. I have a bunch of different collections I plan on reading this month. I also just started The Troop and it is perfectly unsettling so far. This giveaway is amazing. Thanks for hosting Ali!

  4. October is my favourite month too! Its just so dark, atmospheric, oh and I can be my spooky self without judgement. To pick just one scary story is tough, but I would have to say, and this is one that has stuck with me since childhood, is In a Dark, Dark, Room and Other Scary Stories. The Girl with the Green Ribbon still gives me the chills today, just goes to show children’s authors are just as good at scaring people as adult fiction writers.

    1. Yes to Other Scary Stories! Loved those. I haven’t heard of the other two, I’ll have to check them out (: October is the absolute BEST!!

  5. My favourite scary story would be dreamcatcher by stephen king. Lordy that man can make your imagination go into hooror fear mode just describing the icky things that happen in the book. large worm-like aliens ewww. Scared me the whole book but I couldnt put it down and have read it many times and watched the movie.

  6. The Tell-Tale Heart! I remember when I first read it, in class, and being so scared, I had to excuse myself to the bathroom, lol!
Thank you for the giveaway 🙂
