Ah, the bittersweet conclusion of October. While I love moving into winter and the Christmas season, my horror-loving soul is always sad to say goodbye to October for a whole year. That all being said, this October was fabulous! I got to visit Disneyland and attend Mickey’s Halloween Party (yes, I’m a child) with a good friend, and my Bookish Halloween Bonanza was wonderfully successful!
Bookish Halloween Bonanza
Thank you to everyone to read, commented, and participated in my second Bookish Halloween Bonanza! The winner of the giveaway has been chosen (congrats Jessica G.!) and she has been contacted!
One Classic and One ARC Per Month
It’s a personal goal to read a classic and advanced readers copy each month. This month I missed my goal. Boo! I didn’t get to an ARC. At least I went above and beyond with the classics!
Classic:Ā Charlotte’s Webb by EB White, Dracula by Bram Stoker
ARC: FAILED! š

How was October for you? What was your favorite book you read?
A.S. Thornton has evolved from book blogger to author with a particular fondness for writing forbidden love in ancient deserts. When not writing, she’s caring for dogs and cats as a veterinarian. You’ll never find animals at the center of her writing, though, because those fictional worlds don’t have veterinarians and her literal brain can’t accept that the poor critters would be without parasite prevention. Thornton’s debut, DAUGHTER OF THE SALT KING is available wherever books are sold.

I just finished The Marriage Lie by Kimberly Belle. Fast paced and really good. I think you would like it.

What exactly is Mickey’s Halloween Party?
I enjoyed your Bookish Halloween Bonanza! And all of your Halloween photos on Bookstagram. š
I had a nice October. My favorite book of the month was Starfish. It really hit me in the feels.

Starfish, eh?! Will look into it! And the Halloween Party is when the park closes early so only people with tickets to the party can stay – they pass out a bunch of candy, have a special scary parade and fireworks show. It’s pretty fun (:
